Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before purchasing, booking, or attending any class or service at True North Movement Studios. By enrolling as a client, purchasing any product, or attending the studio, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not participate in any services offered by True North Movement Studios. References to “we”, “us”, “our”, or “True North” refer to True North Movement Studios and its related entities.
Studio Policies
Group reformer classes run for approximately 50 minutes and are limited to a maximum of eight clients per class. True North Movement Studios reserves the right to change class formats, instructors, schedules, hours of operation, services, fees, and studio policies at any time without prior notice.
Clients are expected to arrive on time and ready to participate. Mobile phones must remain on silent and stored during class. If a client arrives more than five minutes after the scheduled class start time, entry may be refused for safety and class flow reasons. Late arrivals may be treated as late cancellations.
Clients must be at least 18 years of age to attend group classes unless otherwise expressly approved by the studio. Children are not permitted in the studio during classes.
Clients must treat staff, other clients, and equipment with respect at all times. True North Movement Studios reserves the right to refuse entry to, suspend, or remove any client whose behaviour is considered unsafe, disruptive, abusive, or otherwise inappropriate.
Health and Medical Responsibility
Participation in Pilates, recovery services, or any physical activity at True North Movement Studios is undertaken entirely at the client’s own risk. Exercise carries inherent risks, including, but not limited to, muscular injury, falls, equipment-related injuries, and cardiovascular events.
Clients are responsible for ensuring they are medically and physically fit to participate. Clients must inform the studio and their instructor prior to class if they have any injuries, illnesses, medical conditions, concerns, or if they are pregnant. Clients are strongly advised to seek medical clearance before commencing any exercise program if there is any doubt about their ability to participate safely.
Where a client has a medical condition or is pregnant, participation remains entirely at their own risk. True North Movement Studios reserves the right to restrict or refuse participation in any class for safety reasons.
Clients acknowledge that instructors may provide hands-on physical adjustments for the purpose of correcting technique and supporting safe movement. Clients who do not wish to receive hands-on adjustments must notify the instructor prior to the commencement of class.
Personal Belongings
All personal belongings brought into the studio are the sole responsibility of the client. True North Movement Studios is not responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to personal property, whether stored in lockers or elsewhere within the premises.
Pack Expiry and Membership Minimum Terms
All class packs and casual purchases are subject to the validity periods outlined below.
The 5 Class Pack is valid for three (3) months from the date of activation. The 10 Class Pack is valid for six (6) months from the date of activation. The 15 Class Pack is valid for twelve (12) months from the date of activation. Class packs must be used within their stated validity period and any unused credits will automatically expire. Extensions are not provided unless required by law.
All recurring memberships, including the 2 Classes per Week, 3 Classes per Week, and Unlimited Membership, are subject to a minimum commitment period of three (3) months. During this minimum term, membership payments will continue as scheduled regardless of attendance. Following completion of the minimum term, memberships will automatically continue on an ongoing basis until cancelled in accordance with the Membership Terms and Conditions.
Casual class purchases are intended for short-term use and must be used within seven (7) days of the date of purchase. Any unused casual credit will expire automatically after this period.
True North Movement Studios reserves the right to update validity periods, membership structures, and pricing from time to time with reasonable notice to clients.
Bookings and Attendance
All classes must be booked through the official booking system. Bookings may open up to three weeks in advance. Walk-in attendance is not guaranteed and is subject to availability.
If a class is full, clients may join the waitlist. By joining the waitlist, the client agrees to attend the class if automatically added. Clients may be added from the waitlist up to one hour before the class start time. Late cancellation and no-show policies apply to all waitlisted bookings once promoted into class.
Class credits, memberships, and bookings are strictly personal to the named client and may not be shared, transferred, or used by another person.
Cancellation and No-Show Policy
You can cancel or reschedule a group class at no extra cost up to 12 hours before the scheduled start time.
Cancellations made within 12 hours of the class will result in the class being deducted from your pass or membership. If you do not attend a booked class or fail to cancel, your class will still be deducted and a $5 no-show fee will be charged to your account.
For virtual classes, no late cancellation fees apply. However, if a booking is not cancelled prior to the class start time, the class will be deducted from your pass or membership. Virtual bookings may be cancelled at any time without penalty. However, True North Movement Studios reserves the right to monitor usage patterns and may investigate or restrict access where booking behaviour is deemed excessive, abusive, automated, or inconsistent with genuine personal use.
Private sessions must be prepaid to secure the booking and are subject to a strict 12-hour cancellation policy. Failure to cancel within this timeframe will result in the full session being forfeited.
True North Movement Studios reserves the right to cancel any class at its discretion, including where minimum attendance numbers are not met, due to instructor illness, or for operational reasons. Where the studio cancels a class, affected clients will receive their credit back.
Class Packs
Class packs activate either from the date of purchase or from the date of the first booking, as specified at the time of purchase. All class packs have a clearly stated expiry period. True North Movement Studios does not offer extensions, freezes, transfers, or refunds on class packs. Any unused credits will automatically expire at the end of the stated validity period.
All class pack purchases are final, non-refundable, and non-transferable.
Memberships
Memberships are subject to a minimum three-month term unless otherwise stated. Following completion of the minimum term, memberships will automatically continue on an ongoing basis until cancelled in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
A seven-day cooling-off period applies from the commencement of the membership. If cancellation is requested within this period, the client will be charged for any services used and a cancellation fee of $85 may apply.
Membership payments are billed on the agreed schedule. Failure to attend classes does not suspend or reduce membership obligations.
Failed Payments and Accounts in Arrears
If a scheduled payment is declined for any reason, a declined payment fee of $10 may be applied. Accounts that remain unpaid may be suspended until all outstanding amounts are settled. True North Movement Studios reserves the right to refer overdue accounts to a debt collection agency, which may affect the client’s credit rating.
Membership Holds and Freezes
Memberships may be placed on hold subject to studio approval. Standard holds have a minimum duration of two weeks and a maximum duration of two months and may incur a $20 administration fee. Medical freezes may be granted upon provision of appropriate supporting documentation. During any freeze period, membership access is suspended and the minimum term will be extended accordingly.
Cancellation of Membership
Memberships may be cancelled by providing a minimum of one month’s written notice via email. The notice period begins on the date the written request is received. Membership payments will continue during the notice period and clients may continue to attend classes in accordance with their membership.
If cancellation occurs within the minimum membership term, an early termination fee may apply.
True North Movement Studios reserves the right to cancel or suspend any membership where the client breaches these Terms and Conditions, behaves in an unsafe or inappropriate manner, misuses equipment, or fails to meet payment obligations.
Fair Use Policy
Unlimited memberships are subject to reasonable use limits. Unless otherwise specified, clients may attend a maximum of one instructor-led class per day. Virtual classes may be used without daily limit where included. True North Movement Studios reserves the right to restrict bookings where usage is deemed excessive or inconsistent with reasonable personal use.
Recovery Services (where applicable)
Where clients use sauna, recovery, or other wellness facilities, use is entirely at the client’s own risk. Clients must follow all posted safety guidelines and should seek medical advice where appropriate. True North Movement Studios is not liable for any adverse reactions or injuries arising from use of recovery facilities.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by New Zealand law, True North Movement Studios excludes all liability for any injury, illness, loss, damage, or death sustained by any client in connection with membership, class participation, use of facilities, or presence at the studio.
By attending the studio, the client releases True North Movement Studios and its staff from all related claims.

By creating an account or purchasing services, clients consent to receiving electronic communications from True North Movement Studios, including booking confirmations, studio updates, and marketing communications. Clients may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time.
