ABOUT

True North Movement is a boutique reformer Pilates studio in Wānaka, designed to help you move well, build strength, and create a consistent movement routine.

Think of True North as an internal compass - a clear sense of direction that guides you. In movement, it’s about finding balance, building strength, and developing a routine that keeps your body moving well.

Inspired by the mountains and active lifestyle of Wānaka, the studio has been created as a space where movement supports everything you do outside - from long days on the mountain to everyday life.

Through small group reformer classes and flexible virtual sessions, True North Movement offers a supportive environment where people of all levels can move, strengthen, and find their own True North.

PILATES

Our instructor-led classes are small group reformer sessions designed to build strength, improve mobility, and help you move with control and confidence.

With a maximum of eight reformers per class, our instructors are able to provide guidance, support, and modifications where needed. Each class focuses on full-body strength, core stability, and controlled movement, while still being adaptable for different levels and abilities.

Whether you’re brand new to reformer Pilates or looking to challenge your strength and coordination, our classes are designed to meet you where you’re at.

Alongside our instructor-led reformer classes, we’re introducing KioskPro by Your Reformer - a self-guided reformer experience designed for days when you want to move independently, or need more flexibility.

KioskPro gives you access to a curated library of professionally programmed reformer classes. These are displayed on in-studio touchscreens which every reformer is equipt with. All you have to do is bring along your own Bluetooth headphones.

You choose the class, pace, and style - we provide the space, equipment, and structure

RECOVERY

Our recovery area is designed to help you slow down, stretch, and reset after your class. In our current pop-up studio, we have a dedicated stretching space where clients are welcome to spend some time unwinding after their session. The area includes recovery tools such as foam rollers and massage guns, available to use after class to help release tension and support muscle recovery.

Taking a few moments to stretch and recover is an important part of any movement routine, helping you move better and feel your best both in and out of the studio. This space is free to use after any pilates class.
